Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kira Yamato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bj penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Yamato misses its intended target.
penn tries to clinch but Yamato is having none of it.
penn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yamato.
penn lands a head kick!
penn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A big left from Yamato misses.
penn lands with a nice body kick.
penn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yamato lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like bj penn has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

penn throws a head kick but Yamato moves out of range.
Kira Yamato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
penn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
penn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
penn misses with a looping right.
Yamato closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
penn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
penn scores with a jab to the jaw.
penn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yamato tries to score a power double leg takedown but penn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yamato somewhat.
penn has a takedown stuffed.

penn moves out of range as Yamato strikes.
penn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Yamato throws out the jab.
Nice takedown defense from Yamato. No joy for penn on that attempt.
penn looks gassed!
Yamato gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and penn counters with a head kick. That will keep Yamato thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kira Yamato. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yamato is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yamato paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yamato lands a hook that stumbles penn back into the cage. Yamato follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping penn to the canvas! Yamato pounces and lands several unanswered shots - penn has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
