Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stevie Why!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Drury!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Why fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Why gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Drury stands and throws Why's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Why tries to bench press Drury off him but Drury keeps the position.
Why regains half guard there - taking advantage of Drury's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Drury is looking to stall here but Why recovers full guard.
Why keeping moving, preventing Drury from controlling successfully.
Why keeping full guard, as Drury tries to pass.

Drury showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Drury trying to control but Why is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Why has Drury pulled in close to control his posture.

Drury drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drury jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Drury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Why swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Drury wants to control from the top but Why keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Why misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Why displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Drury.

Drury gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Why to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Why pushes Drury up against the cage in a clinch.
Drury has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Why is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Stevie Why has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Drury.

Why jumps guard and drags Drury to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Why wants to stand up but Drury is controlling him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drury decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Why, up you get!

Drury takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Why counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Drury's guard now.
Why trying to control the position from guard on top but Drury is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Drury lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Why!
Drury seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Why is holding on tight.
Why keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Drury prevents Why from standing back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Why is staying active underneath Drury, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Why counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Why is pressing down on Drury's thigh, looking to free his foot. Drury is holding on for now.
Why trying to control the pace.
Drury tries to get to full guard but Why has control of the leg.

Drury is trying to maintain the position but Why is very close to passing his half guard.

Drury is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Why pulls his head out easily.
Drury won't allow Why to pass to mount.
Drury wants to get back to full guard.
Drury is looking to escape.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Why displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Drury chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Why can pounce on him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Why feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Why is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Drury has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Why is looking to defend but Drury has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Why! Drury pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Why taps out and this one is all over!
