Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshi misses the shot to the body.
Yoshi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Yoshi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Barker's calf.
A punch combination from Yoshi misses.
Yoshi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barker.
Yoshi is looking to slow Barker down with leg kicks.
Barker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barker avoids the head kick by Yoshi.
Taka Yoshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yoshi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barker somewhat.

Barker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yoshi but Yoshi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Barker drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Barker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yoshi moves away.
Yoshi fails to land with a series of punches.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yoshi swivels and escapes.
Barker is breathing heavily.
Yoshi tries a head kick but it misses.
Barker dodges the punch combination from Yoshi.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Barker throws out a loose jab but Yoshi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Yoshi throws a leg kick which misses Barker's front leg but catches the back leg as Barker tries to avoid it.
Taka Yoshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yoshi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Bob Barker has been cut.
Nice defenses there by Yoshi.
Barker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yoshi's waist but Yoshi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barker off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick misses from Yoshi.
Yoshi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Barker shoots in for a double leg but Yoshi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Yoshi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
No joy there for Barker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Yoshi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Barker.

Donk. Yoshi catches Barker right on the button with a cross.
Yoshi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Barker counters with a nice double leg into guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Yoshi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Yoshi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barker's back instead.
Yoshi has the hooks in. Barker is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Barker rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yoshi wants to control but Barker is keeping him busy.
Barker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taka Yoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Yoshi tries to clinch up but Barker circles away and keeps his distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yoshi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yoshi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Barker rather than just go for the knockout.
Barker throws a right hand that Yoshi ducks under and follows up with a left that Yoshi also avoids with ease.

Barker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Yoshi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Barker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Yoshi keeping moving, preventing Barker from controlling successfully.
Barker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Yoshi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Yoshi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Yoshi wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
