Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Nasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Horwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horwood wants to clinch.

Horwood throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nasty was covering up waiting for the punch and Horwood finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Horwood is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Nasty looking for subs off his back but Horwood has passed one foot through into half guard.
Horwood is controlling the pace.

Nasty slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Nasty is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Nasty trying to control the position.
Horwood wants to control from the top but Nasty keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Horwood wants to pass the guard but Nasty is keeping the position.
Horwood trying to control the position from guard on top but Nasty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nasty looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nasty is working an open guard so Horwood takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Nasty stuffs the takedown attempt from Horwood. Horwood gets slowly back to his feet.
Horwood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nasty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Horwood somewhat.
Horwood tries to clinch up.

Nasty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nasty lands in his opponent's guard.
Nasty wants to stand and escape but instead Horwood has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Horwood decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Horwood misses with a head kick.
Nasty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nasty fails in his attempt to clinch.
Horwood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nasty circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Horwood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nasty tries to avoid it but Horwood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nasty to the ground. Nasty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jack Nasty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Horwood.
Horwood looks gassed!

Nasty shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Horwood's guard.

Nasty decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Horwood, up you get!

A close round but James Horwood will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Horwood throws a right hand that Nasty ducks under and follows up with a left that Nasty also avoids with ease.
Nasty shoots in but Horwood avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Horwood punishes Nasty's body with a nice straight punch.

and Nasty counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A left lands for Horwood.

Horwood closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Horwood lands in his opponent's guard.
Horwood wants to stand but Nasty has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Horwood must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nasty is looking for a triangle but Horwood pushes his legs off easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Horwood wants to get up but he can't break Nasty's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nasty can't keep his opponent in guard - Horwood advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nasty is trying to get back to full guard.
Horwood perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Horwood decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Horwood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Horwood is looking to clinch but Nasty is avoiding it.
Horwood dives in and grabs Nasty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nasty pushes down on Horwood's head and hops out.

The fight stays on the outside here - Horwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horwood is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nasty sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nasty throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Horwood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nasty moves away.
Nasty takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Nasty lands a nice shot that snaps Horwood's head back.

Horwood wants to stand but Nasty is controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nasty stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Horwood is looking to clinch but Nasty is avoiding it.
Nasty throws a right and a left that Horwood avoids nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Horwood wants to get back to striking at distance but Nasty won't allow it.

Horwood is trying to force a seperation but Nasty has the dominant position.
Horwood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nasty walks away with a smile on his face. Horwood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jack Nasty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Horwood.
Horwood scores with a one two! Nasty had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Horwood misses with a series of wild punches.
Nasty wants to clinch.
Nice jab there from Horwood.
Nasty avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nasty lands with a slapping head kick.
Horwood connects with a right hand. Nasty shakes it off.

Nasty working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nasty goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Horwood has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nasty but great work by Horwood.
James Horwood is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
