Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bygate.

Izreal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Izreal tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bygate wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Bygate is trying to control Izreal's posture but Izreal avoids it.
Bygate sneaks back into half guard.

Izreal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Izreal wants to get back to his feet.

Bygate tries to roll over but Izreal keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Izreal throws a nice looking combination but Bygate bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Izreal looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bygate scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bygate performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Izreal has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Bygate escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Bygate!

Izreal wants to get back to his feet.
A lull in the action here.

Bygate has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Izreal throws a series of punches but Bygate avoids them all with ease.

Bygate wants to clinch up but Izreal keeps it at a distance.
Izreal misses with an uppercut. Bygate saw that one coming.
Izreal misses with a looping left.

Bygate has Izreal up against the cage in a clinch.
Knees to the body from Bygate.
Bygate crunches a lovely knee into Izreal's ribcage.

Bygate breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Izreal fails with the takedown

and Bygate counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bygate.
Izreal is breathing heavily.
Izreal is wriggling around but Bygate manages to pass to half guard.
Bygate trying to control from half guard but Izreal is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Izreal pushes Bygate off looking to stand but Bygate dives back in and keeps control.

Izreal kicks off Bygate and gets to his feet.

Bygate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Izreal is working an open guard so Bygate takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Bygate bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bygate tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Izreal throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Izreal is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bygate asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bygate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Izreal keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Bygate dominated that round.
That's time! Izreal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Izreal sizes up Bygate with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bygate throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Izreal's waist but Izreal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bygate off to one side.
Izreal displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Bygate closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bygate throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bygate stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Izreal to get to his feet.
Izreal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bygate lands a knee to the head.

Izreal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bygate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bygate is breathing heavily.
Bygate takes one on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Izreal falls off balance throwing a combination

and Bygate decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Izreal's guard.

Izreal had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bygate is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Izreal Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bygate's back instead.

Izreal is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bygate has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Izreal has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bygate taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Izreal doesn't care though - he's delighted!
