Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Turbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shonie Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Turbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shonie Carter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Turbo misses.
Turbo throws a right and a left that Carter avoids nicely.
A shot to de liver by Turbo. Beautiful body shot.
Turbo swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter.
Carter slips a jab and a cross from Turbo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turbo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Carter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Turbo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Carter wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turbo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Carter tries to clinch but Turbo is having none of it.
Turbo misses with a looping left.
Turbo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carter takes a body punch but keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turbo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Turbo throws a head kick that misses.
Turbo missing with a left hand there. Carter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Carter walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Shonie Carter has been cut.
Dave Turbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turbo misses with a double jab.
Turbo misses with a hook. Carter ducked under it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turbo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Turbo throws a hook but Carter blocks it.
Turbo misses with a body shot.
Turbo moves into range and connects with a jab.
Turbo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Turbo looks to land a right hand but Carter moved out of range.
Turbo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Turbo swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt - Turbo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Carter scores with a takedown into Turbo's guard.
Turbo keeping full guard, as Carter tries to pass.
Turbo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Carter stops Turbo from standing up.
Carter slips nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Turbo dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Carter moves out of range of the leg kick from Turbo.
Turbo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Turbo lands a jab.

Carter takes the fight into the clinch.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Turbo.
Carter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Carter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Turbo throws a looping overhand right but Carter ducks down to avoid it.
Turbo throws a hook but Carter avoids it easily.
Carter throws a head kick but Turbo moves out of range.
Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turbo tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turbo to the ground. Turbo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dave Turbo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Turbo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carter's sensitive parts.
Turbo scores with a hook.

Carter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Turbo is trying to defend but Carter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turbo trying to hold on to Carter's head to control him but Carter postures up.
Turbo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carter on the ground.
Turbo controlling the position for now.
Carter trying to control from half guard but Turbo is working away.
Carter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Turbo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Carter cracks Turbo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Carter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Turbo looks a forlorn figure.
Turbo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carter tries to control but Turbo wriggling away.
Turbo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Carter wants to finish this one by submission but Turbo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Turbo squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Carter throws some wild stikes that Turbo manages to avoid easily.
Turbo working to try and regain half guard.
Turbo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Carter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Turbo is surviving well by controlling Carter's body position as best he can.

Carter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Carter has hold of Turbo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Turbo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Carter working for a submission but Turbo is keeping him at bay.
Turbo blocking the ground and pound.
Turbo tries to buck Carter off but he can't manage it.
Turbo working to try and regain half guard.
Carter trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Turbo will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Carter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Carter throws a leg kick but Turbo moved away.
Turbo is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Carter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Turbo throws a hook but Carter avoids it easily.
Turbo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Carter.
Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Turbo looks to land a left hand but Carter moved out of range nicely.
Turbo lands with a right hand.
Carter shoots in but no luck this time.
Turbo throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Carter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Carter stops Turbo from standing up.

Carter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carter won't allow Turbo to get back to his feet.
Turbo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Carter stays in close to Turbo's body and controls the position.
Carter slips nicely into half guard.
Carter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Turbo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Turbo tries to get out of the position.
Carter trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Turbo tries to buck Carter off but he can't manage it.

Carter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Turbo is on top in guard.
Carter has a closed guard, preventing Turbo from standing up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Carter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Turbo wants to get back to his feet.

Carter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Turbo makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Turbo misses with a looping left.

Carter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Turbo!
Dave Turbo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Turbo tries to lock up and control but Carter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Carter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Turbo is looking to escape.

Carter looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Shonie Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Turbo really wants to buck Carter off and get back to his feet.
Carter looking to finish Turbo with some ground and pound. This is bad for Turbo!
Poor strikes thrown by Carter there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Shonie Carter.
I think Turbo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
