Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Konji Yamaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Dufresne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konji Yamaski could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Andy Dufresne's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konji Yamaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Dufresne!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaski keeps the fight on the outside.

Dufresne pushes Yamaski up against the cage in a clinch.
Yamaski pushes Dufresne back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Yamaski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dufresne is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Yamaski is pressed up against the cage. Dufresne has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yamaski down to the mat. Yamaski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dufresne scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Yamaski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dufresne is working away from the top position though.

Yamaski makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Dufresne pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dufresne is in close to Yamaski's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dufresne postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Dufresne slips nicely into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dufresne is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dufresne looks gassed!

Yamaski is defending against the submission attempts here by Dufresne.
Dufresne throws a strike but Yamaski avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Yamaski controls Dufresne momentarily but Dufresne frees himself.

Dufresne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamaski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dufresne has managed to get both his arms back between Yamaski's legs - danger averted.

Yamaski wants to control the position but Dufresne says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Dufresne looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Yamaski is trying to maintain the position but Dufresne is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yamaski takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Dufresne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Dufresne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Andy Dufresne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dufresne throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yamaski wants to clinch

and Dufresne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Dufresne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dufresne throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yamaski was covering up waiting for the punch and Dufresne finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Yamaski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dufresne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Dufresne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dufresne slips a jab and a cross from Yamaski.
Yamaski doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dufresne counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yamaski won't be happy with that.
Dufresne lands a decent elbow from side control.
Yamaski struggling a bit here.

Dufresne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yamaski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Yamaski is looking to get back to his feet here but Dufresne is keeping cool and he's managed to take Yamaski's back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yamaski tries to break free.

Dufresne lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Dufresne scores with strikes from the back.

Dufresne patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Yamaski is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dufresne gets his way!
Dufresne doesn't have the hooks in and Yamaski manages to turn into his guard.

Dufresne looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Yamaski has picked Dufresne up and slammed him! Dufresne can't keep hold of the triangle and Yamaski manages to pass to side control!
Dufresne is looking for a sweep.
Dufresne is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dufresne is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Dufresne tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Yamaski is trying to ground and pound but Dufresne uses the momentary lack of control by Yamaski to regain half guard.
Dufresne regains full guard. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yamaski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dufresne escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yamaski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Andy Dufresne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Yamaski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dufresne.

Yamaski gets a clinch.

Dufresne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dufresne wants to clinch up but Yamaski keeps it at a distance.
Yamaski shoots and misses

and Dufresne counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yamaski's guard now.
Yamaski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Yamaski tries to lock up and control but Dufresne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
