PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monkey D Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ginchin Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). D Luffy's entrance music is One Piece intro. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida fails with the takedown.
D Luffy throws a right and a left that Machida avoids nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - D Luffy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

D Luffy is breathing heavily.
Machida loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

D Luffy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Machida on the ground.

D Luffy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, D Luffy has managed to get both his arms back between Machida's legs - danger averted.

Machida is working an open guard so D Luffy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
D Luffy doesn't manage to clinch there - Machida circles away.

Monkey D Luffy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ginchin Machida.

Machida tries to score a body lock takedown but D Luffy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

D Luffy wants to get back to striking at distance but Machida won't allow it.

Machida wants the takedown. D Luffy is fighting it off but Machida persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in D Luffy's guard against the cage.
