Lowal comes to the cage accompanied by KING KING KING. Takahashi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Get Down - Captain Tinrib. Mohammad Lowal has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lowal throws a hook but Takahashi blocks it.
Takahashi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Takahashi throws a front kick that sends Lowal stumbling back into the cage.
Takahashi fails to land with a series of punches.
Takahashi looks to score with a jab to the body but Lowal is just out of range.
Takahashi lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A combination from Takahashi does no damage.
Lowal looks to land a left hand but Takahashi moved out of range nicely.
No joy there for Takahashi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lowal tries to clinch there but Takahashi circles away.

Tenaka Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lowal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takahashi is fending him off so far but Lowal persists. Nope, Takahashi circles away and we're back to standing.
Lowal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lowal blocks a head kick by Takahashi.
Lowal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takahashi as he avoids it easily.
Takahashi misses with a few strikes there.
A right-left combo lands from Takahashi.
Lowal lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Takahashi is on top in guard.
Lowal looking for a sweep. Not yet Lowal, not yet.

Takahashi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lowal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takahashi has managed to get both his arms back between Lowal's legs - danger averted.
Takahashi wants to control from the top but Lowal keeps moving.
Lowal looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lowal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takahashi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Takahashi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lowal wants to sweep but no luck.
Takahashi trying to control but Lowal is working from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Takahashi wants to stand and escape but instead Lowal has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lowal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lowal drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Takahashi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lowal has Takahashi in his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mohammad Lowal will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Lowal moves out of range of the body kick.

Lowal shoots in and bounces Takahashi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Takahashi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Takahashi is doing well to control the position and prevent Lowal from advancing to side control.

Lowal seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Takahashi throws a right hand that Lowal ducks under and follows up with a left that Lowal also avoids with ease.
