The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but springfield shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Gracie as springfield shoots in.
The fight stays on the outside here - springfield looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie punishes springfield's body with a nice straight punch.
Gracie tests springfield's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
