The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Ruiz. Ruiz gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones lands with a nice body kick.
Ruiz fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Ruiz throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Ruiz.
A punch combination from Jones misses.
Ruiz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like STO Ruiz has been cut.
Jones thows a body kick. Ruiz tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Ruiz looks gassed!
Jones lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ruiz takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ruiz fails with the takedown.
Phantom Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of STO Ruiz.

Jones explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ruiz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jones - the referee stops the clock and Ruiz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jones. Ruiz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ruiz's sensitive parts.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jones.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ruiz will feel that in the morning.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jones.
Ruiz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jones throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ruiz's head.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jones. That's going to slow Ruiz down.
Jones thuds his shin into the meat of Ruiz's side.
Ruiz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jones throws a nice head kick!

Ruiz takes a kick to the side of the head.

Ruiz is rocked!
Whack! Jones lands a heavy head kick that drops Ruiz. The ref tackles Jones to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Ruiz was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Phantom Jones!
