The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norstaad tries to clinch but Kidd is having none of it.

Kidd takes the fight into the clinch.
Kidd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Norstaad smiles and moves away.
Kidd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Norstaad.
Norstaad fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Norstaad gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kidd to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kidd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kidd gets to his feet - Norstaad follows without any prompting.

and Norstaad counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kidd won't be happy with that.
Kidd tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Norstaad working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Kidd turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Norstaad off and cradles Kidd's limp body as Norstaad celebrates with his corner.
