The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Machado checks a leg kick.
Machado tries to clinch up.
Endo moves in looking to clinch but Machado pushes him off.
A lazy left from Machado finds it's target.

It looks like Heiji Endo has been cut.
Machado thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Machado misses the target.
Machado throws a jab when Endo was well out of range.

Endo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Machado is trying to defend but Endo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Endo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Machado sees it coming and defends easily.

Endo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Machado can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Endo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Machado is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Endo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machado's waist but Machado gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Endo off to one side.

Endo tries to land a leg kick but Machado saw it coming and moves away.

Machado looks to score with a jab to the body but Endo is just out of range.

Heiji Endo dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Machado closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Endo did well to prevent Machado getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Machado connects with a nice short shot to Endo's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Endo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Machado with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
