The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yardy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Edwards somewhat.
Edwards is looking to clinch.
Yardy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Edwards throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Yardy counters by moving into the clinch.
Edwards is looking to break free of the clinch but Yardy has double underhooks.

Yardy breaks from the clinch.
Edwards slips a jab and a cross from Yardy.
Edwards throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yardy.
Edwards throws a sloppy head kick and Yardy moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yardy jabs Edwards right on the nose. Edwards blinks but takes it well.
Justin Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yardy keeps the fight on the outside.

Edwards throws a front kick that sends Yardy stumbling back into the cage.
Yardy slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Edwards will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Edwards tries to clinch but Yardy is having none of it.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yardy but Yardy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dan Yardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Edwards.
Edwards tries to bum rush Yardy with a series of wild strikes but Yardy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Yardy jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Edwards tries to keep at a distance but Yardy has taken the fight into the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Yardy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Edwards drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yardy gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Edwards tries to pull guard but Yardy won't allow it.

Yardy gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Edwards regains guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
