Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between uki nam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). uki nam has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, uki nam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Bowles!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowles throws a nice looking combination but nam bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ryan Bowles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
nam fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Good shot there by Bowles.
nam fails with an attempt to clinch.
nam closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bowles circles away.
Bowles stuffs the takedown attempt from nam. nam gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for uki nam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bowles darts in and clinches nam up against the cage.

Bowles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics nam uses from the top position.

nam postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bowles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of nam, into his guard.

Bowles is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Bowles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bowles is going olschool here, as he tries to force nam to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so nam shrugs it off.

Bowles goes for an armbar but he's not got it… nam turns into him and now he's in Bowles's guard.

Horrible takedown by Bowles or perhaps it was just good defense by nam which made him look bad.

and Bowles counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in nam's guard now.
Bowles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. nam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

nam throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bowles escapes and throws nam's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bowles slows the pace down.
Bowles has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for nam!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! nam's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bowles lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Bowles shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
nam on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if nam tries to get out of the position.

nam has one foot on Bowles's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Bowles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. nam is trying to defend but Bowles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bowles wants to control but nam is keeping him busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bowles is pressing down on nam's thigh, looking to free his foot. nam is holding on for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bowles shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

nam is desperately trying to improve his position but Bowles has a good base and remains in mount.

Bowles tries to control but nam wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowles pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bowles fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Ryan Bowles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bowles cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Bowles tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
uki nam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bowles tries to control but nam wriggling away.
Bowles has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of nam's face.
The referee warns nam that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Bowles just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
nam takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Bowles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bowles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bowles connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
nam has his takedown stuffed
and Bowles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Bowles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
nam closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bowles counters with a shoot takedown. nam fights it but they end up in guard.
Bowles in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

and Bowles decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in nam's guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
nam is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ryan Bowles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bowles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
