Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalib Smolinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junk Memorex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junk Memorex will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd cheers as Memorex lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smolinski doesn't seem phased though.

Memorex fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smolinski avoids a punch combination nicely.
Memorex misses with a series of wild punches.

Smolinski shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smolinski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Smolinski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Memorex for as long as he can get away with.

Memorex has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smolinski is proving hard to escape from.

Horrible takedown by Smolinski or perhaps it was just good defense by Memorex which made him look bad.

Memorex is arching his back trying to strike from the bottom but Smolinski turns him over and now has his back.
Memorex has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kalib Smolinski.
