The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagi wants to clinch.
Gabriel misses with a body kick.
Nagi shoots for a takedown but Gabriel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nagi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gabriel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nagi shoots in but no luck this time.
Nagi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gabriel circles away quickly and effectively.
Gabriel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nagi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gabriel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nagi.
Gilbert Gabriel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Souichiro Nagi.
Nagi looks gassed!
Nagi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gabriel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gabriel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
