Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Obrien as Hernandez shoots in.
Antonio Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hernandez dives in and grabs Obrien's left leg, looking for a takedown. Obrien pushes down on Hernandez's head and hops out.

Obrien clinches with his opponent.
Obrien stops a takedown attempt from Hernandez.
Phil Obrien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Hernandez.

Hernandez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Obrien is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hernandez to the mat. Hernandez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Obrien accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hernandez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Obrien doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Obrien manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Obrien wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving.
Obrien will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Obrien wants to pass the guard but Hernandez is keeping the position.

Hernandez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Obrien escapes and throws Hernandez's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Obrien decides to stand back up.

Obrien shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hernandez is trying to defend but Obrien finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hernandez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Obrien's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Obrien's back!
Obrien manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hernandez's guard. Nice work there by Obrien.

Hernandez is staying active underneath Obrien, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hernandez is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Obrien has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Hernandez.

Hernandez is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Obrien has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Obrien rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Hernandez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hernandez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hernandez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Obrien swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Obrien is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hernandez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hernandez lands in his opponent's guard.

Obrien has his foot on Hernandez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hernandez works his way back into a safe position though.

Hernandez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Obrien is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hernandez, into his guard.

Obrien is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hernandez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Obrien is looking to defend but Hernandez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Obrien! Hernandez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Obrien taps out and this one is all over!
