The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shibati looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hennessy!
Shibati is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hennessy is surviving well by controlling Shibati's body position as best he can.
Shibati jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hennessy manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Shibati is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hennessy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hennessy regains half guard.
Hennessy regains full guard. Nicely done.
Shibati avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shibati trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shibati is working hard here to advance position.
Hennessy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hennessy is looking to sinch up a triangle. Shibati throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hennessy's body to avoid the submission. Hennessy has instead reached around Shibati's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hennessy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
