Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ras Fruiten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cooper might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Almost Again. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cooper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fruiten instigates a clinch.
Cooper is trying to break free.
Fruiten pushes Cooper back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fruiten stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Fruiten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fruiten moves in looking to clinch but Cooper pushes him off.
Fruiten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cooper misses with a takedown attempt - Fruiten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fruiten is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cooper is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fruiten to the mat. Fruiten regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Cooper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fruiten's waist but Fruiten gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooper off to one side.

Fruiten shoots in for a takedown but Cooper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fruiten wants to get back to his feet.
Cooper takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jason Cooper just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Cooper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fruiten, pushing him back against the cage.

Cooper has picked Fruiten up - he's going for a ride! Cooper dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Cooper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fruiten takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cooper holds on and takes a little breather.
Cooper has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fruiten is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cooper.

Fruiten doesn't have the hooks in and Cooper manages to turn into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fruiten is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cooper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fruiten utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ras Fruiten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fruiten looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cooper passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ras Fruiten.
I think Cooper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
