And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franz Kafka!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kafka connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like Matt Carniege has been cut.
Kafka connects with a solid leg kick.
Carniege tries to land a leg kick but Kafka saw it coming and moves away.
Kafka uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Carniege looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kafka is fending him off so far but Carniege persists. Nope, Kafka circles away and we're back to standing.
Kafka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carniege misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kafka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kafka lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Carniege backs up against the ropes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kafka thows a body kick. Carniege tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Kafka plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Carniege drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Carniege is breathing heavily.
Kafka tries to bench press Carniege off him but Carniege keeps the position.

Kafka takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kafka is looking for a sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kafka tries to clinch but Carniege moves out of range.

Kafka stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kafka throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carniege on the side of the head.
Carniege will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kafka tries to bum rush Carniege with a series of wild strikes but Carniege uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carniege defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kafka.

Kafka has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kafka cracks Carniege with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kafka lands with a kick to the temple. Carniege shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Nice takedown defense from Carniege. No joy for Kafka on that attempt.
Carniege takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Matt Carniege's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Kafka throws a nice looking combination but Carniege bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Carniege walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kafka moves into range and connects with a jab.
Both fighters circling a little - Kafka finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kafka scores with a sloppy right hand. Carniege should have avoided that one.
Crunch! Kafka slams his shin into Carniege's torso.
Kafka swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Carniege.
Kafka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kafka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kafka is looking to slow Carniege down with leg kicks.

Jeez, Matt Carniege's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Kafka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Matt Carniege seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kafka connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Carniege to the floor! Kafka dives in looking for the finish!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Matt Carniege's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
