PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balrog Rhino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhino comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 100 Percent Aggression! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rhino defends it nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Oooh a lovely combination from Rhino sends Scott down but not out. Rhino dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Oscar Scott has been cut.
Rhino throws an elbow but Scott slips to the side and avoids it well.
Scott is looking for a sweep.
Rhino cracks Scott with a big right hand but Scott just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Rhino is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scott is trying to get back to half guard.
Rhino throws an elbow but Scott slips to the side and avoids it well.
Rhino tries to score with some ground and pound. Scott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Scott is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rhino pulls his head out easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Scott walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rhino works the jab nicely.
Balrog Rhino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rhino throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Scott on the side of the head.

Rhino slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Scott takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rhino, as that shot connected.

Rhino scores with the left hand. Scott knows he should have avoided that one.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Rhino and Scott goes tumbling to the canvas! Rhino follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Scott is rocked!
Rhino frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Scott is trying to escape the mount.
Rhino content just to control the position here.
Rhino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scott is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Balrog Rhino dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Scott fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rhino avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scott ducks straight into an uppercut from Rhino and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Scott maanges to regain guard straight away.
Oh Scott is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Scott wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rhino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rhino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rhino is looking to stand up but Scott won't let him.

Rhino has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Scott takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Oh Scott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rhino finds Scott's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Scott flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Rhino lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Scott will be OK.
