Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Happy Gunderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Soszynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Soszynski's choice of entrance music: Hulkamania. Happy Gunderson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Happy Gunderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Soszynski!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soszynski connects with a nice looking jab.
Soszynski stuns Gunderson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Soszynski. That's going to slow Gunderson down.
Gunderson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gunderson.

Gunderson swings around for an armbar but Soszynski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gunderson's guard.
Soszynski wants to stand but Gunderson is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gunderson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Soszynski is aware though and is defending well.

Gunderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gunderson has his foot on Soszynski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soszynski works his way back into a safe position though.
Gunderson is breathing heavily.

Soszynski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gunderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soszynski has managed to get both his arms back between Gunderson's legs - danger averted.

Gunderson has a closed guard, preventing Soszynski from standing up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gunderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Soszynski defends well.
Soszynski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gunderson is proving hard to escape from.

Soszynski wants to stand but Gunderson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Gunderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soszynski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soszynski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Soszynski stands up and waves to Gunderson to follow him.
Gunderson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Gunderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Soszynski manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gunderson throws a big right hand that misses.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soszynski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gunderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Soszynski is retaining full guard.
Soszynski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gunderson stops Soszynski from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Soszynski is looking to stand up but Gunderson isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Soszynski lands with a nice combination. Gunderson backs away looking to recover.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bob Soszynski will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Gunderson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gunderson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Soszynski.
Gunderson dives in and grabs Soszynski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Soszynski pushes down on Gunderson's head and hops out.
Soszynski lands a jab to the nose.
Gunderson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Happy Gunderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soszynski leaves Gunderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Happy Gunderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck for Gunderson with that takedown attempt.
Gunderson closes the distance and clinches up with Soszynski, looking for a takedown. Gunderson pushes Soszynski against the cage but Soszynski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice sprawl there from Soszynski as Gunderson shoots in.
Gunderson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gunderson throws a combination that misses
and Soszynski counters with a series of strikes. Gunderson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Soszynski throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Gunderson colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Soszynski as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Gunderson is left battered and dazed whilst Soszynski and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Soszynski!
