Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colby Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Colby Henderson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colby Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Captain Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Henderson misses.
Henderson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gracie slips under a jab.
Henderson tries to score with a low kick but Gracie moves his leg out of the way.

Henderson scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Henderson.
Henderson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Henderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henderson swivels and escapes.
Henderson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Henderson connects with a crisp jab.

Henderson throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Gracie tumbling to the canvas!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Henderson.

Henderson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gracie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colby Henderson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Gracie shoots in and bounces Henderson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Henderson is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.
Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Captain Gracie just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Henderson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Henderson.
Colby Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Henderson throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henderson swivels and escapes.
Henderson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Henderson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Henderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Henderson catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Captain Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Henderson, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Henderson against the cage but Henderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Henderson is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.
Gracie is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Henderson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gracie prevents Henderson from escaping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Colby Henderson.
I think Henderson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
