The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler lands an overhand right.
Lawler lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tossavainen backs up against the cage.

It looks like Uljas Tossavainen has been cut.
Tossavainen takes one on the button.
Lawler looks to score with a jab to the body but Tossavainen is just out of range.
Lawler works Tossavainen's body with a nice hook.
The crowd cheers as Lawler lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tossavainen doesn't seem phased though.
Lawler stuffs the takedown.
Tossavainen tries to move into range but Lawler moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lawler connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tossavainen. Tossavainen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Tossavainen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Tossavainen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lawler closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lawler darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Lawler lands a jab to Tossavainen's midsection.
Lawler scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tossavainen throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lawler.
Tossavainen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uljas Tossavainen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tossavainen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lawler.
Lawler lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Robbie Lawler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tossavainen dodges the punch combination from Lawler.
Lawler cracks Tossavainen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Tossavainen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Lawler lands a glancing blow to the side of Tossavainen's head.

Lawler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tossavainen circles away quickly and effectively.

Tossavainen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lawler.

Lawler lands with an uppercut that bounces Tossavainen off the cage and back into rage.
Tossavainen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lawler finds it's way round the side to connect with Tossavainen's head.
Lawler lunges at Tossavainen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tossavainen's hand.

Uljas Tossavainen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Lawler scores with the left hand. Tossavainen knows he should have avoided that one.
Lawler catches Tossavainen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lawler drops Tossavainen with a right and a left! Lawler comes rushing in but Tossavainen regains his composure and manages to keep Lawler in guard.

Tossavainen is rocked!
Lawler trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tossavainen's guard.
Tossavainen wants to sweep but no luck.
Lawler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Tossavainen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lawler's guard.

Lawler scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lawler scores with a shot to the body.
Lawler lands an overhand right.

Jeez, Uljas Tossavainen's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Tossavainen drops his hands momentarily and Lawler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Uljas Tossavainen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Robbie Lawler!
