Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson loads up on a big right hand but Coetzee slips the punch.
Lawson throws a head kick that misses.
Coetzee shoots in and drives through. Lawson sprawls well.
Lawson throws a sloppy head kick and Coetzee moves out of range easily.
Coetzee leaves Lawson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Coetzee moves in looking to clinch but Lawson pushes him off.
Coetzee fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Lawson clinches.
Coetzee tries to score a body lock takedown but Lawson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jerry Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franscois Coetzee.
Coetzee has Lawson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lawson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Coetzee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lawson smiles and moves away.

Lawson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coetzee can do anything to dispel that myth.

Coetzee is staying active underneath Lawson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lawson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Coetzee could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Lawson has cracked it and Coetzee is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Lawson!
