Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dixie Drummond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dixie Drummond!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crane gets caught flat footed, as Drummond shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Crane trying to control the position here.
Crane looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Crane is pulling down on Drummond's head. It's preventing any offense from Drummond, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drummond wants to stand but Crane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Crane trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drummond being controlled here momentarily.

Crane is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Crane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Crane wants to sweep here but Drummond controlling him for the moment.
Crane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Drummond has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Crane is proving hard to escape from.
Drummond pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crane is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Crane manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Drummond is squirming around, avoiding Crane's attempts to control the action.
Crane looking to control and managing it successfully.
Crane trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crane controlling the position easily from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Crane just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Crane will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Crane doesn't manage to clinch there - Drummond circles away.

Crane moves into range and clinches up with Drummond.
Drummond throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Crane blocks it with crossed arms.
Drummond lands a knee to the body.
Drummond tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Drummond looks gassed!
Drummond goes for a takedown attempt but Crane pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Crane wants to clinch.
Drummond swats away the attempt to clinch by Crane.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Drummond looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crane is fending him off so far but Drummond persists. Nope, Crane circles away and we're back to standing.
James Crane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dixie Drummond.
Crane keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Drummond takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Crane misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Crane counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crane.
Crane sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Crane dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Crane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drummond, pushing him back against the cage.
Crane has a couple of punches blocked by Drummond.
Crane lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Drummond backwards.

Drummond breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Drummond shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crane's guard.
Drummond wants to stand but Crane is controlling his posture from full guard.
Crane trying to keep a closed guard but Drummond is proving a slippery customer.
Drummond trying to stand up but can't free himself from Crane's guard.
Crane lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Drummond!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Crane is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Drummond has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Drummond!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Crane working a defensive guard here.
Drummond wants to stand but Crane is controlling his posture from full guard.
Drummond stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crane swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Drummond stands and throws Crane's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Crane manages to get back to half guard.
Crane is positioning himself well to prevent Drummond advancing to mount.
It looks like Drummond is going to stand back up.
Crane regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crane is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Drummond being controlled here momentarily.

Drummond decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Drummond shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Drummond showed some decent athleticism there.
Drummond wants to stand up but Crane is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Crane is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Drummond pulls his head out easily.

Drummond stands up from half guard.

Drummond clinches up with Crane and pushes him back against the cage.

Drummond breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Drummond looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Drummond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Drummond is looking to stand up but Crane won't let him.
Crane seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Drummond wants to stand but Crane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dixie Drummond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Drummond has Crane up against the cage in a clinch.
Crane has had enough of the clinch but Drummond keeps him there for the moment.
Knees to the body from Drummond.
Drummond lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Drummond blocks an uppercut.
Crane prevents the takedown attempt.
Crane is pressed up against the cage. Drummond has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Crane down to the mat. Crane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Drummond gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Drummond is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Crane can't fight it off and eventually Drummond manages to take the fight to the floor. Crane looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Drummond wants to control from the top but Crane keeps moving.
Drummond wanted to stand there but Crane had control of the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Crane looking for a triangle here. Drummond is fighting it but it looks tight! Crane pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Drummond is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). James Crane!
