PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Len Gobo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drop the World. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gobo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gobo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gobo is working for a guillotine from mount but Ford frees his head quite easily.

Gobo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ford turns into him and now he's in Gobo's guard.

Gobo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gobo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ford is aware though and is defending well.

Ford controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Gobo has a closed guard, preventing Ford from standing up.

Ford gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A head kick from Ford lands but Gobo takes it in his stride.
Gobo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ford fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ford pushes Gobo up against the cage in a clinch.

Ford breaks the clinch.

A big head kick from Ford and Gobo is sent sprawling to the canvas!

Gobo is rocked!

It looks like Len Gobo has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gobo is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gobo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gobo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ford has passed into side control.

Ford stands up and beckons Gobo to his feet.
Ford lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gobo's sensitive parts.
Ford connects with a solid leg kick.

Ford clinches up against the cage.

Ford breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ford pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ford gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ford pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ford cracks Gobo with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Ford has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gobo to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A head kick by Ford - that's a beauty! Gobo is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Ford can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
