Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jed Masilungan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masilungan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bound to Violence by Hatebreed. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masilungan blocks a head kick by Martinez.
Martinez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Masilungan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Martinez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Martinez tries to bum rush Masilungan with a series of wild strikes but Masilungan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Masilungan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martinez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Martinez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Masilungan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Masilungan wants to finish this one by submission but Martinez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Masilungan.

Martinez is desperately trying to improve his position but Masilungan has a good base and remains in mount.

Masilungan cracks Martinez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masilungan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Martinez looks a forlorn figure.

Martinez is rocked!

Masilungan has control of Martinez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Martinez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Oh Martinez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Masilungan is in the full mount, landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Masilungan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Martinez's face.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee warns Martinez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Masilungan is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Masilungan extends the arm and Martinez is forced to tap!
