Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thor Odinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Odinson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Amon Amarth - Twilight of The Thunder God. Thor Odinson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odinson digs a good body shot into Maia's ribs.
Maia takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Maia shoots in but Odinson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Odinson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Maia takes a step back to recover.
Odinson stuffs the takedown attempt from Maia. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.
Odinson throws a right hand that Maia ducks under and follows up with a left that Maia also avoids with ease.
Odinson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daniel Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maia stuns Odinson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Maia throws a right and a left that both miss.
Odinson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Maia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Odinson tries to avoid it but Maia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Odinson to the ground. Odinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Maia shoots in for a double leg but Odinson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Maia misses with a series of wild punches.
Maia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maia avoids the head kick by Odinson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maia lands in his opponent's guard.
Maia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Odinson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maia.
A head kick misses from Odinson.
The fighters circling - Odinson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Thor Odinson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Maia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Odinson is fending him off so far but Maia persists. Nope, Odinson circles away and we're back to standing.

Odinson throws a jab when Maia was well out of range.
Odinson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Maia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Odinson pinned against the cage. Odinson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Maia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Odinson tries to avoid it but Maia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Odinson to the ground. Odinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Maia shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Maia was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Maia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Maia wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Maia moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Odinson has worked his arm free - good work by Odinson!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Maia cracks Odinson with a good jab.
Maia throws a body punch but Odinson moves out of range.
Odinson misses with a hook to the body

and Maia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Odinson's guard.
Maia is stalling in the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maia throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Odinson is trying to stand up here but Maia is controlling him well.

Maia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Odinson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maia.
