maxwell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
Jones defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from maxwell.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
maxwell has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into maxwell's guard.

maxwell isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks maxwell on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones!

Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Jones will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
maxwell misses with a takedown
and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. maxwell didn't expect that.
Jimmy Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and maxwell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between maxwell's legs - danger averted.
maxwell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
maxwell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. maxwell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead.
Jones breaks maxwell's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

maxwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
