The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loxo fails to land with a series of punches.

Jaatinen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jaatinen misses with a two punch combination.
Loxo punishes Jaatinen's body with a nice straight punch.
Jaatinen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jaatinen tries to bum rush Loxo with a series of wild strikes but Loxo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jaatinen lands an overhand right.
Loxo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Jaatinen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Loxo's guard.
Loxo wants to sweep but no luck.

Loxo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Tomi Jaatinen has been cut.
Loxo throws a shot from downtown. Jaatinen moves away and avoids it.
Jaatinen throws a nice looking combination but Loxo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Loxo moves out of range of the leg kick from Jaatinen.
Loxo drops Jaatinen with a left right combo! Loxo follows him down to the ground into side control.

Loxo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jaatinen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Oh Jaatinen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Loxo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
An elbow from Loxo crashes against the mat.
Jaatinen seems to have got his legs back now.
Loxo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jaatinen wants to control but Loxo postures up.
Jaatinen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jaatinen looks to move to half guard but instead Loxo has passed into mount! Damn!

Loxo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Loxo unloads with some shots from mount but Jaatinen bucks and avoids them well.

Jaatinen is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jaatinen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Loxo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Jaatinen suckers Loxo into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Jaatinen is now in Loxo's guard!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Loxo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Loxo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jaatinen.
Loxo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jaatinen backs up against the cage.

Loxo scores with a punch to the head.
Jaatinen looks to land a right hand but Loxo moved out of range.

Loxo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Loxo lands a left and a right that sends Jaatinen crashing to the canvas! Loxo dives into mount looking to finish!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Loxo grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Jaatinen takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Loxo cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
