Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sydney Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Shark!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shark missing with a left hand there. Rain was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Shark is looking to clinch but Rain is avoiding it.
Rain swats away the attempt to clinch by Shark.
Shark doesn't manage to clinch there - Rain circles away.
Shark tries to clinch but Rain is having none of it.
Shark tries to clinch up but Rain circles away and keeps his distance.
Shark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rain tries to avoid it but Shark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rain to the ground. Rain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rain displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shark.
Shark doesn't manage to clinch there - Rain circles away.

Rain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rain wants to pass the guard but Shark is keeping the position.
Shark tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shark keeping moving, preventing Rain from controlling successfully.

Rain is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shark trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rain trying to control the position from guard on top but Shark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rain is one step ahead there.

Rain stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ethan Shark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shark wants to clinch.
Shark fails with the takedown

and Rain counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sydney Rain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Shark.

Rain stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Rain is breathing heavily.
Shark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rain decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shark's guard.
Rain advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rain drops an elbow to the side of Shark's head.
Shark misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Shark on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Rain wants to work for an arm triangle but Shark is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Shark trying to hold on to Rain's head to control him but Rain postures up.
Rain throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Shark missing with punches from the bottom.
Rain prevents Shark from improving his position.
Shark tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rain has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Rain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shark throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rain sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Shark is desperately trying to improve his position but Rain has a good base and remains in mount.

Rain is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rain extends the arm and Shark is forced to tap!
