Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Rogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenno Penna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogan's entrance music is Pressure - Swollen Members. A fine choice. Penna has chosen APOCALYPSE NOW as his entrance music. Brenno Penna will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogan takes the fight into the clinch.
Rogan gets underhooks to prevent Penna's takedown attempt.

Penna drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penna jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Penna wanted to stand there but Rogan had control of the position.

Penna is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogan is trying to control the position but Penna postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Rogan has control of Penna's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Penna regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Penna is desperately trying to improve his position but Rogan has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penna is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Penna manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rogan's guard. Nice work there by Penna.

Penna drops back looking for a leg! Rogan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rogan manages to kick Penna off! Penna jumps back into Rogan's guard.
Penna wants to pass the guard but Rogan is keeping the position.
Penna won't allow Rogan to sweep him here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rogan controls Penna momentarily but Penna frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

so Rogan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rogan passes Penna's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Rogan is looking for a kimura but Penna is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rogan to get the leverage.

Rogan is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Penna is forced to tap! Great finish!
