Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Markku Osteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kukulcan Ah Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osteri kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Aino Akti - Kerrankin tarpeekseen. Ah Puch is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sick Puppies-Youre going down. Kukulcan Ah Puch will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Markku Osteri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kukulcan Ah Puch!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osteri fails with the takedown.
Ah Puch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Osteri.
Osteri shoots in for a double leg but Ah Puch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Markku Osteri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Osteri dives in and grabs Ah Puch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ah Puch pushes down on Osteri's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Markku Osteri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ah Puch throws a series of punches but Osteri moves out of range.

Osteri throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ah Puch was covering up waiting for the punch and Osteri finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ah Puch has his foot on Osteri's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Osteri works his way back into a safe position though.
Ah Puch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osteri tries to free his leg and advance position but Ah Puch is retaining full guard.

Osteri postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Osteri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ah Puch swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ah Puch has momentary wrist control but Osteri slips an elbow through the middle.
Osteri stands and throws Ah Puch's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ah Puch regains half guard.

Ah Puch wants to get back to his feet.

Osteri is trying to control the action in half guard but Ah Puch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Osteri frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Osteri landing strikes from the mount and Ah Puch is in trouble!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ah Puch is in a horrible position here. Osteri smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The referee warns Ah Puch that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Osteri postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ah Puch looks a forlorn figure.

Osteri lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ah Puch hang on?
Ah Puch is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ah Puch takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Osteri scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Osteri lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ah Puch hang on?
Ah Puch is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
You get the feeling that Ah Puch really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Ah Puch tries to hold on but Osteri postures up.
Ah Puch takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Ah Puch is looking to improve his position but Osteri isn't that keen on the idea.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ah Puch sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ah Puch tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Ah Puch wants to get back to full guard.
Ah Puch looks gassed!
Osteri tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ah Puch knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Osteri working over Ah Puch with some ground and pound. Ah Puch looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ah Puch looks like he's trying to stand up.
Osteri prevents Ah Puch from improving his position.

Osteri seems to be working for a kimura but Ah Puch defends the submission attempt.
Ah Puch is looking for a sweep. Osteri is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ah Puch scores with a nice right hand.
Osteri fails with a takedown attempt.
Osteri wants to clinch.
Osteri wants to clinch up but Ah Puch keeps it at a distance.

Osteri closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ah Puch gets back to full guard.
Ah Puch is striking off his back. Osteri thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Osteri winds up and cracks Ah Puch with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Osteri blocks the strikes from Ah Puch.
Ah Puch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Markku Osteri dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Osteri closes the distance and clinches up with Ah Puch, looking for a takedown. Osteri pushes Ah Puch against the cage but Ah Puch circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Osteri fails with a takedown attempt.
Ah Puch fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ah Puch misses with a series of wild punches.
Ah Puch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Osteri.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Markku Osteri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ah Puch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Osteri.

Osteri closes the distance and pushes Ah Puch back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ah Puch breaks the clinch.
Osteri closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ah Puch circles away.
A left and a right from Ah Puch both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Markku Osteri has been cut.
Osteri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ah Puch sprawls well. Ah Puch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Osteri gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Osteri moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

No joy there for Ah Puch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ah Puch connects with a body shot.
Ah Puch fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ah Puch misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ah Puch closes the distance and lands a one-two.


Osteri is rocked!
Ah Puch lands with a big right hook that stumbles Osteri - he's out on his feet here! Ah Puch follows up with another monster hook that separates Osteri from consciousness! Osteri falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Ah Puch stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kukulcan Ah Puch!
