PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Brawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Lee Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jerry Lee Redmond was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Brawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Lee Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brawn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Redmond to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Redmond drops back looking for a leg! Brawn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brawn manages to kick Redmond off! Redmond jumps back into Brawn's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Brawn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Redmond's guard.

Redmond thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Redmond throws a head kick that misses.
Brawn shoots for a double leg takedown but Redmond sprawls well. He's pushed Brawn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brawn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Redmond is fending him off so far but Brawn persists. Nope, Redmond circles away and we're back to standing.
Redmond seems to have recovered his senses.
Redmond dives in and grabs Brawn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brawn pushes down on Redmond's head and hops out.

Redmond got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brawn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Redmond has managed to get both his arms back between Brawn's legs - danger averted.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Ben Brawn will probably get the nod.
