Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blaff Biggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Thiago!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biggins misses with a takedown attempt - Thiago sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Biggins fails with a takedown attempt.
Biggins closes the distance and clinches up with Thiago, looking for a takedown. Biggins pushes Thiago against the cage but Thiago circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blaff Biggins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thiago fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Biggins manages to avoid it.
Thiago throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Thiago escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Biggins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Biggins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thiago has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Biggins has managed to get both his arms back between Thiago's legs - danger averted.

Thiago wants to control the position but Biggins says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Biggins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thiago defends it well.
Thiago has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Biggins is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Biggins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thiago is just riding it out for now. Biggins eventually gives up the hold.
Thiago is staying active underneath Biggins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Thiago has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Biggins is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Biggins.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Biggins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Biggins shoots for a takedown but Thiago saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thiago throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Biggins was covering up waiting for the punch and Thiago finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Thiago controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thiago accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Biggins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Thiago trying to control but Biggins is working from the bottom.

Thiago drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Biggins dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Thiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Biggins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Biggins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Biggins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Biggins wants to control from the top but Thiago keeps moving.

Biggins is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Thiago is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Thiago escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Biggins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Thiago is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Biggins reverses the position - he's now on top in Thiago's guard.

Mauricio Thiago comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Thiago has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
