PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Gaines.
Oooh a lovely combination from Gaines sends Drago down but not out. Gaines dives into side control looking to finish.

Drago is rocked!

It looks like Alex Drago has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gaines stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Oh Drago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gaines misses with a jab, cross combination.
A swing and a miss from Gaines.
A slow jab from Gaines misses its intended target.
Drago seems to have got his legs back now.
Drago tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gaines swivels and escapes.
Gaines throws the left hand but Drago avoids the punch easily.
Drago displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gaines throws out the jab.
Gaines throws a hook but Drago blocks it.
Drago avoids a punch combination nicely.

Drago shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gaines napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaines is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Drago is working to tighten is grip on Gaines's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gaines has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Drago is really squeezing tight and eventually Gaines passes out! Drago breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
