PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between matt mcdilda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tantric Yogi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, matt mcdilda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tantric Yogi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mcdilda wants to clinch up but Yogi keeps it at a distance.
mcdilda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
mcdilda just misses with a punch to the body.
mcdilda tries to clinch up but Yogi circles away and keeps his distance.

mcdilda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - mcdilda lands in his opponent's guard.
mcdilda has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
mcdilda trying to control but Yogi is working from the bottom.

Yogi has his foot on mcdilda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. mcdilda works his way back into a safe position though.
mcdilda wants to stand but Yogi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
mcdilda is fighting to break Yogi's control of his arms but Yogi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Yogi looking for a guillotine here but mcdilda defends easily.
Yogi has his hands on mcdilda's head, controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yogi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from mcdilda.
Yogi pulls mcdilda in to control the position.
Yogi keeping moving, preventing mcdilda from controlling successfully.

mcdilda avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Yogi wants to sweep here but mcdilda controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yogi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. mcdilda is aware though and is defending well.
mcdilda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Yogi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but mcdilda can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
mcdilda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yogi on the ground.
Yogi looks gassed!
mcdilda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yogi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

mcdilda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and mcdilda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
mcdilda wants to stand but Yogi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
mcdilda wants to control from the top but Yogi keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yogi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yogi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Yogi thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Yogi is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But mcdilda has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from mcdilda!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
mcdilda trying to control the position from guard on top but Yogi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yogi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Yogi looking to control.
Yogi controlling the position.
Yogi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Yogi looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Yogi is trying to control the position but mcdilda postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tantric Yogi dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Yogi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Yogi drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Yogi seems to have locked his on tight now - mcdilda screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Yogi, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Tantric Yogi!
