Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Torano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Machini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Machini is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Torano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Machini!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machini swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Machini closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Machini lands in his opponent's guard.

Torano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Machini gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Machini trying to control but Torano is working from the bottom.
Machini working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Torano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Machini doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Machini manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Machini is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Torano is looking for a triangle but Machini pushes his legs off easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Torano looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machini is fending him off so far but Torano persists. Nope, Machini circles away and we're back to standing.
Torano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Machini shoots in but Torano avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Machini counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Torano is breathing heavily.

Machini is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Machini is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torano has his foot on Machini's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machini works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Machini postures up in Torano's guard and throws a big left but Torano blocks it.

Machini wanted to stand there but Torano had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Machini shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Machini was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Machini has hold of Torano's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Torano manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Machini wants to finish this one by submission but Torano is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Machini.

The referee warns Torano that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Torano tries to lock up and control but Machini gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Machini cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Torano takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Machini breaks from Torano's wrist control and lands an elbow.
