The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia keeps the fight on the outside.
Garcia fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Shadow is out of range.
Garcia misses with a two punch combination.
Shadow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shadow is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Shadow leaves Garcia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Garcia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shadow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcia tries to avoid it but Shadow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcia to the ground. Garcia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown. Shadow tries to sprawl out of it but Garcia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shadow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shadow has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Garcia is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shadow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garcia connects with a nice short shot to Shadow's temple.
