Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sal Right (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Man Hoi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hoi's choice of entrance music: Hunk of Burning Love by Elvis Presley. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chong Man Hoi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hoi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Right.

Right gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Right manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Right breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Right scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Chong Man Hoi has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Right lands with a thumping leg kick.
Right feints and then cracks Hoi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hoi down.
Right feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hoi's calf.
Sal Right seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoi takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Right clinches up with Hoi and pushes him back against the cage.

Right escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoi walks into a left hand.
Right throws a nice inside leg kick.
Right is looking to clinch but Hoi is avoiding it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Right, right into the meat.
Right scoring well with a low kick there.

Right clinches with his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Right's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Right throws a quick inside leg kick.
Right lands with a hook. Hoi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That has opened up Chong Man Hoi's cut even more.
Right fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hoi.
Right lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good leg kick by Right there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Both fighters circling a little - Right finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Right throws a head kick that Hoi semi-blocks.

Right has closed the distance and engaged Hoi in a clinch.
Right is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Right breaks from the clinch.

Right drops Hoi with a beautiful combination! Hoi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Right is looking for the KO!

Hoi is rocked!

The cut above Chong Man Hoi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hoi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
A head kick by Right - that's a beauty! Hoi is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Right can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Sal Right!
