Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John McGill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Martello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Martello will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGill misses with an uppercut. Martello saw that one coming.
Martello staying out of range there.
Horrible takedown by McGill or perhaps it was just good defense by Martello which made him look bad.

Martello has McGill up against the cage in a clinch.
Martello lands a left hand that snaps the head of McGill backwards.

Martello has hold of one of McGill's legs. McGill is fighting the takedown attempt but Martello gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

McGill throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Martello escapes and throws McGill's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Martello tries to move into full mount but can't pass McGill's legs.
McGill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Martello is looking to take a break and control but McGill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McGill is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McGill takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

McGill is refusing to be controlled, as Martello sits in half guard.
Martello is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McGill misses with some strikes from the bottom.
McGill is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McGill missing with punches from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Martello darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Martello wants to control but McGill is keeping him busy.

McGill wants to get back to full guard.
Martello is trying to control the action in half guard but McGill is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Martello in particular looking to stall.

McGill has one foot on Martello's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
McGill misses with a takedown attempt

and Martello counters with a takedown into side control.
McGill looks to move to half guard but instead Martello has passed into mount! Damn!

Martello jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McGill manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Martello is looking to take a break and control but McGill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Martello is working to tighten is grip on McGill's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McGill has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Martello is really squeezing tight and eventually McGill passes out! Martello breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
