The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Belfort with that takedown attempt.
Belfort looks to land a combination but Almeida avoids it well.
Almeida lands a front kick.
Almeida misses with a few strikes there.
Belfort tries to clinch up.
Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Almeida throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Almeida keeps the fight on the outside.
Belfort takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Belfort is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A combination from Belfort does no damage.
Almeida throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Belfort has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Almeida.
Almeida dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Belfort. That did some damage!
Belfort walks into a left hand.
Almeida looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Almeida is looking to slow Belfort down with leg kicks.
Almeida connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Belfort tumbling to the canvas! Almeida pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Belfort was done - good stoppage!
