The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Penn circles away.
Ribeiro dodges the punch combination from Penn.
Penn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ribeiro looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Penn lands a nice hook to Ribeiro's body. Ribeiro takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Penn slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ribeiro takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ribeiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Ribeiro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Penn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Penn rushes Ribeiro and presses him up against the cage.
Ribeiro gets underhooks to prevent Penn's takedown attempt.

Penn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ribeiro shoots in but no luck this time.

Penn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Penn tries to bum rush Ribeiro with a series of wild strikes but Ribeiro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Penn cracks Ribeiro on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ribeiro falls backwards against the cage. Penn follows up with more strikes that drop Ribeiro to his knees. Penn keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ribeiro! This one is all over!
