PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Brick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Robinson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Brick!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Brick keeping moving, preventing Robinson from controlling successfully.
Brick wants to improve his position but instead Robinson has moved into half guard.
Brick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Robinson . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Robinson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brick defends it well.

Brick looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Brick is looking to improve his position.
Robinson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brick has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Robinson escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Robinson !

Robinson just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brick tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Brick tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Brick is looking to regain half guard here but Robinson keeps moving and retains side control.
Brick looks to move to half guard but instead Robinson has passed into mount! Damn!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Robinson cracks Brick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Robinson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Brick's face.
Robinson scoring with strikes but Brick is staying in there.
Brick keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Robinson is landing with some decent strikes but Brick is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Robinson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Brick?

Brick looks gassed!
Robinson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Robinson lands a heavy elbow.

Robinson prevents Brick from getting the reversal.
Brick takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Brick is in a horrible position here. Robinson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Robinson wants to control the pace but Brick is squirming around nicely.

Robinson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brick can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brick is working to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Robinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Robinson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brick is looking to escape.
Brick is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Brick is squirming around, avoiding Robinson 's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Robinson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brick lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Robinson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brick did well to prevent Robinson getting side control.
Brick wants to get back to full guard.

Brick makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brick.

Brick had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Robinson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Brick Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Robinson 's back instead.
Brick is striking well from the back but Robinson escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
Brick is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Brick is breathing heavily.

Brick is thwarting Robinson 's attempts to control the position.

Brick is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Robinson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Robinson lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Brick is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Robinson is looking to control Brick's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Robinson avoid being mounted?
Robinson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brick wants to pass the guard but Robinson is keeping the position.
Brick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Robinson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brick manages to get himself to full guard.

Robinson gets to mount! Brick was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Brick looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Brick is really stuck here.
Brick covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Robinson lands a shot to the body.

Robinson has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Brick is in real trouble here. Robinson gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Brick is tapping out! Robinson wins by rear naked choke!
