Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nanak Singh!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Singh avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Singh which made him look bad.
Silva throws a series of punches but Singh avoids them all with ease.
Singh stuffs the takedown.
Nanak Singh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Silva.
Singh ducks right into an uppercut from Silva.
Some bone on bone action there as Silva checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Silva scores with a takedown into Singh's guard.
Silva throws a strike but Singh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Singh trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Singh has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
Silva tries to strike from the bottom.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Singh from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Singh moves away from the strike by Silva.
Silva throws a right and a left that Singh avoids nicely.
Silva takes a swing at Singh's ribcage but misses.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva checks the leg kick nicely there.
Silva misses with a double jab.
Singh throws a head kick that misses.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Singh sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Singh moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Singh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Singh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Singh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.
Silva misses with the combination.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Singh avoids it really well and circles away.

Singh lands a big head kick that sends Silva tumbling to the mat! Singh takes a step backwards and waves Silva back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Silva is rocked!


It looks like Ricardo Silva has been cut.
Singh delivers a nice body kick.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Singh finish him?
Singh lets loose with a powerful body kick. Silva will feel that in the morning.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Singh cracks the inside of Silva's front leg.

Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Ricardo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Singh throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Singh lands a brutal head kick. Silva looks out on his feet and Singh throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
