PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacky Brauller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daved Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sims's choice of entrance music: I'm going to get you. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sims takes the fight into the clinch.

Sims jumps guard.

Sims is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brauller stands and steps away. Sims gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sims scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sims cracks Brauller with a big elbow.
Sims throws an elbow but Brauller slips to the side and avoids it well.

Sims swings around for an armbar but Brauller sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sims's guard.
Sims looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brauller is one step ahead there.
Brauller passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Brauller stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sims slips a straight right by Brauller.
Brauller looks to clinch

and Sims counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sims is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brauller is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brauller has escaped and now he's on top!

Sims throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Brauller escapes and throws Sims's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sims looks gassed!

Brauller cracks Sims with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sims looking for a sweep but Brauller has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Sims regains half guard.
It looks like Brauller is going to stand back up.

Sims trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brauller trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sims tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Brauller wants to control the pace but Sims is squirming around nicely.

Sims defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Brauller.

Sims is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

A close round but Daved Sims will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brauller tries to clinch up

Sims trying to stand up but can't free himself from Brauller's guard.
Brauller wants to sweep but no luck.

Sims gets to his feet - Brauller follows without any prompting.
Brauller closes the distance but Sims moves to the side

Brauller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Sims wants to pass the guard but Brauller is keeping the position.
Sims is breathing heavily.

Sims trying to control but Brauller is working from the bottom.
Brauller wants to stand and escape but Sims is having none of it.
Brauller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sims manages to get himself to full guard.

Brauller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brauller is pushing down on Sims's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sims is fighting to maintain full guard but Brauller has managed to sneak the leg through.

Brauller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sims is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Daved Sims showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Brauller lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sims shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sims showed some decent athleticism there.
Brauller is trying to maintain the position but Sims is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jacky Brauller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Brauller cracks a nice hook into Sims's ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brauller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jacky Brauller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sims has managed to clinch.
Sims gets underhooks to prevent Brauller's takedown attempt.
Sims takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sims escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sims tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brauller swivels and escapes.

Brauller fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Sims counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brauller's guard now.
Sims postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Brauller wants to stand and escape but Sims is having none of it.

Brauller is working an open guard so Sims takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sims instigates a clinch.

Sims gets control of Brauller's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sims will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sims wants to stand but Brauller is controlling the position.
Brauller wants to control from the top but Sims keeps moving.

Brauller trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Brauller wants to control from the top but Sims keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Sims holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sims wants the takedown. Brauller is fighting it off but Sims persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Brauller's guard against the cage.
Brauller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sims is controlling him.
Brauller throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Daved Sims.
