Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cadoc Calzaghe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the ring accompanied by You are the best around. Cadoc Calzaghe looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrei Emelianenko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cadoc Calzaghe!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calzaghe throws a shot from downtown. Emelianenko moves away and avoids it.
Calzaghe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Emelianenko circles away quickly and effectively.
Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Calzaghe keeps it at a distance.
Emelianenko dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Calzaghe looks gassed!

Emelianenko connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Calzaghe to the floor! Emelianenko dives in looking for the finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura here.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Emelianenko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Emelianenko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Calzaghe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Emelianenko.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Emelianenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Emelianenko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Calzaghe looks a forlorn figure.

Emelianenko cracks Calzaghe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Emelianenko is going olschool here, as he tries to force Calzaghe to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Calzaghe shrugs it off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Emelianenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Calzaghe sprawls well. He's pushed Emelianenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Emelianenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Calzaghe, pushing him back against the ropes.

Calzaghe throws a hook to the side of Emelianenko's head but Emelianenko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Emelianenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Calzaghe circles away.
Cadoc Calzaghe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Calzaghe tries to move into range but Emelianenko moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Emelianenko lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
