The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makerov throws a chopping leg kick but DeMarco manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Makerov throws a right hand that DeMarco ducks under and follows up with a left that DeMarco also avoids with ease.
A slow jab from Makerov misses its intended target.
A head kick misses from Makerov.

DeMarco clinches up with Makerov and pushes him back against the cage.

DeMarco pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
DeMarco throws a left and a right that both miss
and Makerov counters with a series of strikes. DeMarco will be more careful next time no doubt.
DeMarco steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Makerov.
DeMarco bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Makerov thows a body shot but no joy.
DeMarco lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Makerov circles away quickly and effectively.
Makerov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. DeMarco sees it coming and avoids it easily.
DeMarco dodges the punch combination from Makerov.
Makerov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Don DeMarco has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
BOOM! Makerov lands a beautiful left hook that drops DeMarco. DeMarco tries to recover but Makerov is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and DeMarco lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
